LED Wall Calculator
Work out panel count, resolution, power and cost for an LED wall from your own dimensions. The calculator uses the published pixel pitch, panel size and price of the panels currently listed in this store. Results are estimates for planning; confirm figures with a quote before ordering.

The formulas
Every figure above comes from four calculations you can do by hand.
- Maximum pixel pitch = closest viewing distance in metres, read as millimetres. A front row at 4 m means a pitch of 4 mm or finer.
- Panels across = ceiling(wall width / panel width). Panels down = ceiling(wall height / panel height).
- Resolution across = finished width in mm / pixel pitch in mm.
- Maximum power = maximum watts per square metre x wall area. This page estimates 800 W/m²; use the figure published for your panel.
Worked example
A 3 m x 2 m wall with 500 mm panels at 3.9 mm pitch:
- Across: 3.0 / 0.5 = 6 panels. Down: 2.0 / 0.5 = 4 panels. Total 24 panels.
- Finished size: 3.00 x 2.00 m, area 6.0 m².
- Resolution: 3000 / 3.9 = 769 across, 2000 / 3.9 = 513 down.
- Maximum power: 6.0 x 800 = 4800 W, which exceeds one 16 A / 230 V circuit at 3680 W.
What the estimate leaves out
Panel cost is list price multiplied by panel count. A complete system also needs a video processor sized to the finished resolution, data and power distribution, rigging or ground support, spare modules and power supplies, and shipping. Load ratings must be verified against the manufacturer's load table and signed off by a qualified rigger.
